HELLO IT'S ME コンピレーションアルバム
今年10月の来日記念盤のようです。
THE ESSENTIAL TODD RUNDGREN
お手軽に聴くにはいい選曲だとおもいます。

IT WOULDN'T HAVE MADE ANY DIFFERENCEという曲は
「所詮はおなじこと」と訳されている。

　妙にうまい邦題だ。

- WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN; SUNSET BLVD. -
「ファンがだまされた時には;サンセット通りへ」
これはよくわからないが、A　WIZARD　A　True　Satrからの名曲だ。
元気のないときはこの曲を大音量でかければ大丈夫・・・
のような気分になります。(あくまでも個人的に）



歌詞はなかなかハチャメチャで、凄く良いです。
クライスラー（米国車メーカー）のビルが庭に崩れ落ちてきたり、
IRAがLONDONを（おそらくbombで）hitして、スコットランドヤードが半分・・・・というような
素晴らしい!?常人では書けないものです。

BBC　RADIO６でトッドのライブが聴けます。

"No World Order"というinteracitveというコンセプトで
つくった、かなり前衛的なアルバム（その当時）のあとの

観に行くことができてなかなか幸せではありました。中学生くらいから好きなものは変わってない･･･

アルバム「TODD」
CDでは9曲目になる「Everybody's Going To Heaven/King Kong Reggae」から
後半のKing Kong Reggaeというパートの演奏です。

残念ながら、10月の日本公演はTODD/HEALING　TOURという形ではなくて
おそらくメンバー4人のみの、ブルース中心の公演となります。
機材、予算や人件費などの関係だと思われます。

今週末、アメリカのレイバーデイウィークエンドから始まります。
ちょっくら出かけてきます～。

30年前の映像ですね。
TODDというアルバムからの"The Last Ride"って言う曲です。

9月のOHAIO　Akronからのツアーで再演します。

10月にオーストラリアのあと日本公演があります。

今はCDの最期に入ってます。
ライブではしみじみと聴き入っている女性が目立ちます。
多くのfanは50歳台くらいですが・・・とってもいい曲です。

Todd Rundgren & Utopia - Initiation

この当時に
プログレのようなフュージョンのような実験的な
ねじれたPOP　SONGをつくっていたのは
驚く。

UTOPIAの演奏で
曲はInitiationです。日本ではカルト教団のせいで
イニシエーションという意味合いがあんまり良くないですね。
OPEN　BEGINという前向きな意味もあるのにね。

でも曲はプログレですね。若い時の力は偉大だ、何でもTRYできる。
現在TODDは62才だが、もちょっとの間はいい作品を続けてほしい。

今の言葉でいうと、”スピリチュアル”な感じのコンセプトアルバムです。
歌詞のなかで

というあたりが説教くさくなくて、melodyもよくて
好きです。
